Every Urban Earth Ceramics piece is one-of-a-kind and handmade by Ashley Howe in her home studio on a mountain in Western North Carolina. She hand-paints each piece with colored underglazes and clay slips, then adds glaze to accomplish the final aesthetic and food safety. All pieces are food, microwave and dishwasher safe, although we recommend hand-washing items that have significant unglazed surfaces (or using natural dishwashing detergent if using a dishwasher). Pricing is determined by the amount of energy it takes to complete each surface design.
